Using Human Resources Data to Address Workforce Challenges

Virtual
September 20, 2022 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Human service agencies often face a number of workforce challenges, and using data can help address them. By leveraging human resources data, agencies can answer questions such as: Which recruiting methods or sources lead to the most qualified candidates? How do candidates’ previous experience or educational background relate to subsequent job performance? Does turnover vary by race or ethnicity? And, does a new program or process improve turnover?

APHSA’s National Staff Development and Training Association will host a virtual session to discuss several uses of human resource data and numerous metrics for workforce processes and outcomes using examples from human service agencies. Presenters are Dr. Megan Paul, Research Associate Professor at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Center on Children, Families and the Law; and Dr. Charmaine Brittain, Director, Practice Innovation, Butler Institute for Families.
