NHSA Member Making The NonProfit Times News
Melanie Lockwood Herman, NHSA Board Member and Executive Director of Nonprofit Risk Management Center (NRMC), was quoted in an article in The NonProfit Times on the topic of onboarding staff. NRMC recently created a website with free resources for HR and other nonprofit professionals, which includes a guide to onboarding new team members. “’Hiring a new team member is one of the most important decisions any nonprofit will make,’ Herman says. ‘There are some important steps nonprofits should take to ensure their new employee has a great introduction to the organization — and those steps don’t end on the first day or the first week…’”
Girl Scouts Announces New Leader
Girl Scouts of the USA named Bonnie Barczykowski as its new CEO, effective February 13. She is a decade-long veteran of the Girl Scouts, serving as CEO of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri council since 2012. During that time, Ms. Barczykowski built a compelling strategic vision that expanded access for girls across the region, transformed program experiences and engaged community partners.
