On the Road to Unlocked!
On the Road to Unlocked!: Investing in Our Children and Our Communities‘s fifth event will focus on trauma: How do we transform youth justice systems to meet the needs of young people who have experienced trauma?
- Learn about the prevalence and impact of trauma on youth who intersect the justice system;
- Explore the root causes and practices that cause trauma or retraumatize youth by hearing from those with lived experience and those working with them; and
- Hear about community-based programs and interventions that are meeting the needs of youth in the justice system and promoting healing and resilience.
This ongoing virtual series highlights how a community-based continuum of care can serve as an alternative to ineffective youth justice approaches that disproportionately harm Black and Brown youth and is co-sponsored by National Human Services Assembly, Youth Advocate Programs, Inc., and The Social Justice Initiative at Bryn Mawr College.
