On the Road to Unlocked!

Virtual
October 21, 2021 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

On the Road to Unlocked!: Investing in Our Children and Our Communities‘s fifth event will focus on trauma: How do we transform youth justice systems to meet the needs of young people who have experienced trauma?

  • Learn about the prevalence and impact of trauma on youth who intersect the justice system;
  • Explore the root causes and practices that cause trauma or retraumatize youth by hearing from those with lived experience and those working with them; and
  • Hear about community-based programs and interventions that are meeting the needs of youth in the justice system and promoting healing and resilience.

Any professional interested in youth justice and equity issues is encouraged to attend. Learn more about the Unlocked! Series or watch past sessions, and register for this event.

This ongoing virtual series highlights how a community-based continuum of care can serve as an alternative to ineffective youth justice approaches that disproportionately harm Black and Brown youth and is co-sponsored by National Human Services Assembly, Youth Advocate Programs, Inc., and The Social Justice Initiative at Bryn Mawr College.
