Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council (Q3 2022)
Join council Co-Chairs Monisha Kapila (Founder and Co-CEO, ProInspire) and Victor Valentine (Executive Director, NHSA) for an interactive discussion of specific DEI issues council members are facing in their organizations. Frances Kunreuther (Co-Executive Director, Building Movement Project) will set the stage for the discussion with an overview of Building Movement Project’s Race to Lead survey to be released on August 24, 2022.
Since Building Movement Project last surveyed the nonprofit sector in the summer of 2019, the nation has experienced the COVID pandemic, uprisings in response to the murder of George Floyd and police violence, the continuing epidemic of mass shootings, and dramatic shifts in the Supreme Court. This year’s Race to Lead survey offers the opportunity to understand how these changes are impacting all nonprofit workers, leaders and organizations. The survey will explore new topics – like the experiences of frontline workers and changing expectations of nonprofit workplaces – while continuing to gather important information on the intersection of race, leadership and nonprofit culture. This year’s survey also includes several questions to identify service providers and frontline workers in particular.
Frances will also give a sneak preview of the Building Movement Project’s automated racial equity assessment, Building Blocks for Change, which will be released later this fall.
Directly following the presentation, participants will be invited to breakout discussions aimed at addressing current DEI challenges some registrants will submit in advance of the meeting. If you would like your topic considered, please identify it when you register. It remains the goal of the council to share resources, advice, and support each other as we identify solutions to the current inequities inhibiting our work.
Register today for an interactive meeting where we learn from and support each other in this important DEI work.
This meeting will be for the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Council. Details on the meeting agenda and registration are forthcoming.
