National Assembly Public Policy Activities

The National Human Services Assembly actively participates in a variety of coalitions or advocacy groups, releases policy statements, and joins sign-on letters that are in the best interests of members and the human service or nonprofit sector at-large.

The National Human Services Assembly actively participates in the following coalitions:

  1. Immigrant Youth Coalition led by the National Education Association
  2. Child Care/Early Learning Coalition led by the National Women’s Law Center
  3. Partnership to Protect Nonprofit Nonpartisanship led by the National Council of Nonprofits
  4. NDD United, focused on protecting federal discretionary spending programs
  5. Protecting Immigrant Families (PIF) Campaign led by the National Immigration Law Center (NILC)
  6. Coalition on Human Needs
  7. Higher Education Act (HEA) Reauthorization Coalition led by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
  8. Campaign for Youth led by the Center for Law & Social Policy (CLASP)
  9. Get it Back, Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) campaign led by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities
  10. Youth Against Alzheimer’s Coalition led by UsAgainstAlzheimer’s
  11. Nonprofit Action Network led by Independent Sector
  12. Census Partners Coalition, U.S. Census Bureau
  13. Protecting Immigrant Families Working Group led by NILC and CLASP

Including the issue of focus for these coalitions, NHSA monitors more than thirty federal legislative issues impacting the human service sector.
