Financial stability is essential for family success. It’s also essential for a thriving workplace, staffed by employees who aren’t weighed down by stresses over money. That's why it’s so important for HR professionals and other supervisors to know about economic supports that their employees might be eligible for.
As a sector, we seek to ensure that the people and communities we serve have the opportunities and resources they need to thrive.
Yet, currently, millions of Americans – our clients and constituents – are struggling just to make ends meet. 1 in 6 people in America face poverty every day. 1 in 4 people in America can’t afford to pay for healthy foods. And more than 50 million people are living without health insurance.
One of the ways that human service organizations can help to meet this challenge head on is by connecting those we serve with the resources out there that are available to them. This includes helping more people to learn about, and apply for, programs that pay for healthy groceries and medical care or even put some spending cash in their pockets.
For this reason, this winter we hosted a special webinar series that went over some of these programs and ways for human service professionals to make them more accessible for the individuals and families that they can benefit.
Given the continuing challenges so many of nonprofit organizations face in today’s economic climate, we wanted to find a way to demonstrate our commitment to ensuring both our members’ success and their employees’ financial security.
That’s why we offer a webinar version of the on-site trainings we’ve been doing at select pilot sites. These trainings help HR professionals to connect employees with federal and local benefit programs that they may be eligible for. Participants in the webinar:
